Rusty Lewis
Rusty has been with College Media Network from its early days as a startup in Boston. Though he has served many roles at the company, Rusty is now the Director of Newspaper Relations where he oversees the operations for the CMN team. Before being involved in college media, Rusty was a public school teacher. He is a graduate of Skidmore College and loves his Boston sports.
Chris Gillon
Chris serves as Manager of Affiliate Relations, and started with the company in August of 2005. He currently manages relations with some of CMN’s largest college partners throughout the country, as well as the company’s sponsorship presence at numerous trade shows and conferences taking place throughout the year. Chris is an alumnus of the University of Connecticut’s Daily Campus, where he served as managing editor.
Lara Hanson
A California native, Lara joined the New York City CMN team in early 2007. She has a BA in journalism and sociology, with an MA from Fordham University in Digital Media. Lara arrived at CMN after building her own startup—a multimedia university platform, The College Voice. Currently, she serves as a Coordinator for Newspaper Relations and manages both CMN partnerships and the rollout of the new platform.
Mike Schoelch
Mike is one of CMN’s Coordinators of Newspaper Relations. He started work at the company in August of 2006, while attending Northeastern University, and took on the task of helping to bring new publications into the network. As his role expanded, Mike continued to help publications integrate into the College Media Network family and has now managed the launch process of over 150 online college newspapers.
David Studinski
Dave is a Coordinator of Newspaper Relations and has worked with College Media Network since June 2006. He is the online support ticket organizer and documentation writer for College Publisher. Dave is a 2007 graduate of Ball State University’s Department of Journalism and served two terms as editor-in-chief of The Ball State Daily News. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in Digital Storytelling from Ball State and remains an advocate of student media and First Amendment rights.
Kristorfer Kirk
Kristofer joined College Media Network in February of 2008. Originally from Texas, Kristofer received his BA in Communications and a Masters in Public Culture from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the guru in residence for the new Atlas software for business managers, but he also works on editorial focused initiatives, such as mtvU’s “Editorial Boards.”
