In keeping with the demand of the market and staying current with the changing landscape of online news media, College Media Network [CMN] continues to make partnerships, develop new tools and forge new relationships.

Whether it is partnering with outstanding third party services for ad sales tools, classifieds management, email distribution or even harnessing open source applications – we want to provide the best possible set of tools for the newspapers with which we partner.

The goal for CMN is to create a community around college media where journalists can continue to publish in a 24 hour news cycle with easy to use tools that allow for dynamic presentation of news coverage and share those best practices with the rest of college media. The end game is to raise the quality of online college media so it can be revealed for the leading edge of journalism it is.

Using multi-media tools shouldn’t be the responsibility of a webmaster any longer. CP5, launched in the Fall semester 2008, is the newest version of our software that enables editors and journalists to update the site with an easy-to-use GUI (Graphical User Interface).

As we continue to develop those tools, launch more newspapers on the new platform and create opportunities for sharing within the network, we will post updates on the CMN blog.
