CMN’s product suite and offerings are focused on providing services and technologies that enable college publishers to concentrate their resources on producing high level content and distributing it efficiently.
In addition to our menu of products and services, our experienced team interfaces directly with newspaper staff all over the country in order to gather and share the best practices in digital publishing. Our goal is to deliver the tools necessary to increase customer engagement and grow revenues. Clients use our technology for a broad range of applications, including:
CMN’s Ad Network can provide a higher yield than Google AdSense because its experience representing college media for over 10 years. Not only are we effectively garnering interest from national advertisers, but we provide a bidding exchange among multiple ad networks (including Google AdSense) to place advertising - so only the highest bidder finds its way into every ad impression we serve.
CMN’s parent company, The Access Network, provides college publishers with a CMS that enables editors to place their local flavor in pre-populated directories for bars, restaurants, hotels, spas, and more. While exposing a new stream of revenue, newspapers are able to create and curate campus guides that provide a valuable service to the campus community.
CMN’s menu of options range from the off-the-shelf managed solutions to completely customized open source alternatives. Primarily, CMN licenses its proprietary software, College Publisher, which is the only web CMS customized for the needs of the college newsroom; however, we enable college newspapers to explore open source solutions like WordPress with the safety net (and year-over-year continuity) of a technology company managing the hosting environment.
CMN’s clients are able to distribute their content on emerging platforms in ways that make sense for the consumer. Harnessing geo-location data, our iPhone and Android applications can access content that is both relevant and nearby to your readers. Both news and guide information can be found in the applications we build, but we continue to add new services to the applications as the mobile market evolves.
