College Media Network not only promotes the contributing writers within the network, but tries to create opportunities where news making can put them on a national stage. mtvU’s critically acclaimed series “Editorial Board” features college journalists and pits them against newsmakers. mtvU and CMN have been able to forge relationships with other news and media outlets such as AOL and Politico. Bloggers from College Media Network have been recruited and selected for opportunities to write for these and other outlets. The first of these opportunities is Bright Hall, a college focused blog that is featured on AOL News.
