Funny Girls: Barbara Streisand Clones her Deceased Dog, Twice
Two puppies were made from her beloved pet’s DNA.
Barbra Streisand told Variety that she successfully made two clones of her beloved dog after it died last year.
Cells from the mouth and stomach of her 14-year-old Coton de Tulear Samantha, were used to create two new dogs, Miss Scarlett and Miss Violet.
In the interview, according to the Guardian, Streisand said she dressed the pups in red and lavender to tell them apart, which is how they got their names.
She also brought another pup into the family — also a Coton — who was a distant cousin of Samantha, who died in 2017.
Seems like the fam are all doing pretty well.
