Santa Fe, Texas is currently under a cloud of confusion as they mourn the loss of 10 people.

Seventeen year old Dimitrios Pagourtzis is in custody and is believed to be responsible for the shooting. Instead of killing himself like originally planned, the suspect surrendered himself and both of his weapons. The weapons used were a shotgun and a .38 caliber-revolver, which were legally owned by the suspect’s father.

After going through the shooter’s social media and journals, it was determined that Pagourtzis wanted to carry out this attack and then commit suicide.

Students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which was the site of a horrific school shooting where 17 lives were lost, sent a note of support to the students of Santa Fe High School.

As of May 18, 2018 there have been 22 school shootings in the US since the beginning of the year.
