Kayne Ties The Beatles, Eminem with 8th Consecutive #1 Album

Only West’s 2004 debut, “College Dropout,” didn’t make it to the top. It “only” reached the #2 spot. Lame.

Kayne West’s latest release, “Ye,” debuted at the top of the Billboard album chart over the weekend, making it the 8th consecutive release for the rapper to hit the top spot. That puts Kim’s husband in some pretty lofty company, tying Eminem and some band called The Beatles for most consecutive #1 albums all-time.

In terms of total #1 albums, Kayne’s total of eight ties him with U2, Madonna, Kenny Chesney and Eminem. The Beatles are on top with a nearly-untouchable total of 19 #1s. Jay-Z is second with 14.

“Ye” knocked Post Malone’s “beerbongs & bentleys” off the top spot pretty easily.

According to the folks over at Stereogum, each of the seven tracks on “Ye” has had about 25.7 million on-demand streams since it’s release.

The ball is in your court, Eminem.
