Netflix just announced that they are looking for people to tackle a massive project. They just posted a job opening for an editorial analyst job. The responsibilities listed include watching, rating, tagging, and writing a brief analysis of their movie and TV content.
Netflix is looking for someone who knows something about TV and movies. You need to be able to summarize what you watched and be able to spend hours watching content. Netflix is best known for their excellent original content, including “House of Cards” and “The End of the F***ing World.” Netflix is set to release 700 new shows for their platform this year.
Netflix is Looking For a ‘Librarian’
Netflix creative analyst Sherrie Gulmahamad told Fast Company that this position is like that of a librarian. You make sure shows and movies are properly classified. However, you also need to know how the shows and movies are related, and whether they fit together in a row on the site.
According to the Netflix job posting, the streaming service is looking for someone that has more than five years of experience and is knowledgeable and educated in the film and television industry. You also should be able to explain your findings in a simplified way. You also must be proficient in a second language other than English.
In 2014, Netflix was looking for a UK/Ireland editorial analyst. With Netflix, they are turning pPJsinto the new office wardrobe. These positions are known to fill up quickly, but they may have similar positions open up in the future.
Netflix Taggers are Responsible for Recommended Content
“Taggers” are the ones who add various tags to Netflix content. This helps the streaming service recommend other shows and movies to viewers after they finish watching anything. These roles appear to open up every so often.
Last year, Netflix revealed that they had added more than 7 million subscribers globally and ended 2017 with 94 million subscribers. This led to a massive increase in revenue and profit for the streaming platform. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the launch of Netflix’s streaming service.
They originally only offered mail-in DVD movies. Netflix also says they are working to find the best way to match content with viewers’ tastes around the globe. Netflix is continuing to invest in new content, and with that, more new job opportunities may be available in the near future. Stay tuned. #Netflix jobs
