Walmart abruptly closing 63 Sam’s Club stores, laying off thousands
Some employees showed up for work to find their stores shut and notice on the door.
Walmart is suddenly closing 63 Sam’s Club stores across the US, according to Business Insider.

Several stores were closed today and some workers were not even told ahead of time and found out that their store would be shuttered when they showed up for work to find the store’s doors locked and a notice announcing the closure, according to reports.
Sam’s Club announced the move on Twitter:
After a thorough review of our existing portfolio, we’ve decided to close a series of clubs and better align our locations with our strategy. Closing clubs is never easy and we’re committed to working with impacted members and associates through this transition.
