The big story…
Amazon is now rolling out a new feature where packages can be delivered directly into your garage, using Key for Garage. Garage delivery is supposed to be the happy medium between delivering a package inside your home and leaving it on the porch where it’s vulnerable to the weather conditions and package thieves.
Oh, and if you need to return your garage package (or any Amazon package), you will soon be able to take it to Kohl’s rather than the post office. Because that’s a thing.
In global news…
The death toll after bombings in three churches and three luxury hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday now totals 359. The Islamic State militant groups National Thawheed Jama’ut and Jammiyathul Millathu Ibrahim have claimed responsibility for the attacks.
In higher education…
Actor Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli pleaded not guilty to two charges of conspiracy in the college admissions scandal. CNN reports, “They also waived their right to appear in court for an arraignment on a money laundering charge, according to the signed documents.” Loughlin’s not guilty plea is her first response in the case where she and her husband are accused of paying $500,000 in fake charity to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California. More than a dozen other wealthy parents have also been accused of paying bribes or cheating on SATs and ACTs to get their kids into college.
With style, a franchise playoff scoring record, and the epitome of clutch and an “oh my goodness” moment, Damian Lillard found the bottom of the net with a buzzer-beating Hail Mary. A win or go home game, the #3 Portland Trailblazers knock off #6 Oklahoma City Thunder in five games with a 118-115 nail-biter. Not just any victory, but a 37-foot three point shot at 1.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter to advance to the Western Conference Semifinals. Read more in Adam Shay’s report for CMN.
