The big story…
The House of Representatives passed a resolution Tuesday – with a 245-182 vote – to block President Trump’s national emergency declaration that would allow funds for a border wall on the U.S. southern border. CNN reports, “Thirteen Republicans voted with Democrats to pass the measure. The votes in favor of the resolution fell short of the two-thirds of the chamber needed to override a presidential veto. Trump has issued a veto threat on the measure.” The resolution now moves to the Senate where it has to be brought to a vote on the floor within 18 days.
In national news…
President Trump and Kom Jong Un met in Hanoi, Vietnam yesterday for their second nuclear summit. And, although no one knows yet what this meeting will produce, both leaders seem open to negotiations.

The Obamas have announced that Priya Swaminathan and Tonia Davis will be the co-heads of the Higher Ground Production label. The production label already has a multi-year deal with Netflix.
